"The Go To Place" for Business
The Chamber Grand Haven Spring Lake Ferrysburg is “The Go To Place” for business in Northwest Ottawa County. Local investors, outside investors, visitors and residents rely on us to be the central clearing hours for community-wide information, referrals, and economic development services. We assist with site selection and act as liaison between those looking to expand or locate their business and local municipalities. The Chamber Grand Haven Spring Lake Ferrysburg furthers infrastructure improvements by assisting with Community Block Grants, and we are currently spearheading a regional economic development strategic plan to protect and maintain our business-friendly climate. Small business services include counseling and assistance with business plans, and gap financing through Small Business Administration loan funds. As a leader in training and workforce development, The Chamber Grand Haven Spring Lake Ferrysburg administers Economic Development Job Training grants for the area and coordinate Leadership Connect, the community’s leadership development academy. With input from the business community, we implement employee training programs and seminars to address their needs. We are also the catalyst behind a new Business/Education Partnership initiative where manufacturers and educators work together to align school curriculum with the skill requirements of area business. Regionally, the Chamber is an active member of the West Michigan Regional Chamber Coalition. Together with neighboring communities Grand Rapids, Holland and Muskegon we represent over 6,000 businesses at the state and federal level to further issues that support economic prosperity. Our programs and services are designed to enhance the quality of life of all who live and work in Northwest Ottawa County, but our more than 680 members are the core of our organization. We provide endless opportunities for them to network and form the relationships they need to grow their business. Chamber sponsorships and advertising offer targeted business-to-business promotional vehicles, while committees and roundtables allow members to learn valuable skills and best practices from their peers. It takes hundreds of volunteers and countless hours to fulfill our mission. But this is a community with a “can do” attitude that shows continuously in the quality of life we all enjoy.
