The Lakeshore ATHENA Awards program is a collaboration of the Lakeshore Chambers - The Chamber Grand Haven, Spring Lake, Ferrysburg, Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce, and Muskegon Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce.

The Lakeshore ATHENA Award is presented annually in October to recognize individuals who demonstrate excellence, creativity, and initiative in their business or profession, provide valuable service by contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community, actively assist women in realizing their full leadership potential and exhibits the spirit of regional collaboration.

The 2011 ATHENA Award Program/Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, October 4 at the Trillium Banquet & Conference Center. Click here for a list of 2011 Nominees.

• 2007 Nancy Miller, former dean of social sciences at Hope College, Holland;
• 2006 Nancy McCarthy, former director of Hackley Visiting Services and Hospice

ATHENA Scholarships

One critical component of the ATHENA Award Celebration is the awarding of scholarships to women over the age of 30 who are pursuing higher education.  Over the past six years we have awarded $18,800 to area lakeshore women.
